On to the next phase of the Odyssey – the Abbott family trip to Frisco on Hatteras Island, NC. While we didn’t have the cliff of stairs to climb like we did at Lake Michigan, there was another obstacle – getting a tarp, cooler, chairs, another cooler, umbrellas, beach toys, suntan lotion, books, and a radio all down to the beach in one trip.
That’s where my dad’s push cart came in. Just look at those wheels – perfect for… pavement. Sand? Not so much. Which was unfortunate, since the cart had to be dragged through 50 yards of sand to and from the beach with a 100 pound cooler weighing it down.
